BIN Files:

Like many digital processors, the TC 2290 has an operating system which runs all of its vital functions. These operating systems - or 'OS' for short - are stored on an interchangeable EPROM chip.

These chips (like most specialized parts in the TC2290) have been unavailable for some years. Therefore, users are largely stuck with the OS their TC2290 came with.

However, with the advent of relatively cheap EPROM burners such as the XGecu T76 Programmer has come the ability to copy and burn new EPROMS to replacement chips such as the MBM27256-25.

All that is required besides the burner and a new chip, are digital copies of the OS from an original TC EPROM in BIN file format. The BIN files below are supplied as ZIP files for ease of download.

NB: Use these files at your own risk. Doing anything at all to the internals of your TC2290 carries a risk of damage to the unit (and yourself, owing to the high voltages potentially present), and swapping chips is no exception. This was a non user-serviceable part. Some OS versions were only intended to work with certain generations of hardware or option installations (see Options Page) so may not function as intended if you swap an inappropriate version into your unit. Any of these things could cause irreparable damage to your TC2290. I should also point out that strictly speaking these chips should not be copied, but as TC no longer supply them nor provide tech support for the TC2290, they are provided here solely as a maintenance utility.

If you have a verified good BIN file of any OS version not listed below, please email it to me so that it can be added to the available downloads.
